Credits & legal
Front+ uses geographic and climate datasets with attribution requirements. This page summarizes those credits and preserves the complete source notices distributed with the game.
Since Front+ 1.0.6 every map is built from public data. The World, Europe, Black Sea and Britannia maps take their relief and coastlines from the ETOPO 2022 Global Relief Model (NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, public domain, doi:10.25921/fd45-gt74). Greece, Yugoslavia, USA and Egypt use AWS Open Data Terrain Tiles: SRTM and GMTED2010 terrain data courtesy of the U.S. Geological Survey, Global ETOPO1 data from NOAA, and, for the European maps, Copernicus-funded EU-DEM layers. Land, lakes, rivers and borders come from Natural Earth 1:10m vectors (public domain, “Made with Natural Earth”).
Climate data for every map derives from Beck et al., “Present and future Köppen-Geiger climate classification maps at 1-km resolution,” Scientific Data 5, 180214 (2018), doi:10.1038/sdata.2018.214; data doi:10.6084/m9.figshare.6396959, licensed CC BY 4.0. Climate classes were converted into moisture values, reprojected and smoothed.
The land’s real colours derive from the ESA WorldCover Sentinel-2 composite of 2021, licensed CC BY 4.0 (© ESA WorldCover project / Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2021) processed by ESA WorldCover consortium), for every map but the World, and from NASA Blue Marble Next Generation imagery by Reto Stöckli, NASA Earth Observatory (public domain), served by NASA GIBS, for the World. Both were reprojected and modified for the game’s terrain grid.
The two Swiss maps, Switzerland and Switzerland and its neighbours, are built from the Swiss federal geodata published by the Federal Office of Topography swisstopo. Required source attribution:

The complete notice also credits TINITALY / INGV, geoland.at, RGE ALTI / IGN, DGM1 Bayern, Baden-Württemberg and EU-DEM data where merged into swissALTI Regio.
These unmodified text files are copied from the game project so exact layers, transformations, projections and map-specific credits remain available.

The seven mode pictures (Front+ 1.0.10) and the Poland, Egypt and Greece culture pictures (Front+ 1.0.9) are drawn by David, the game’s author: his own art.

This website sets no cookies, includes no analytics or advertising trackers, and does not log visits. For online play, Caddy and the relay record in the system journal each connection's IP address and request headers, the player name and game build, lobby names, and when players join, leave, and start or finish a match. Players appear there under a pseudonym, never their player key; chat messages and lobby passwords are not logged. Current server policy caps journal storage at 200 MB and one month. While a match runs, the relay keeps its turns in memory so players can rejoin; they are discarded when the match ends or the relay restarts. The relay also keeps the MOST WINS board on the server: for each player name, its online wins and games and when it last won and last played. Every player sees the board, and it is kept across restarts until the operator clears it.
No public support channel or status page is currently operated. The relay health endpoint checks the TLS proxy only, not match availability. Online service availability and capacity are not guaranteed.
